Assistant Director of Finance

Job DescriptionOne of our clients is looking to add an Assistant Finance Director to their team.\n\n\nEssential Job Duties of the Assistant Director of Finance\n\n• Oversees and develops procedures, policies, and controls necessary to provide accurate records of expenditures and budget balances for agency programs. \n\n• Assists the Grant Administrator in managing and monitoring the grant and contract accounting by budgets and deadlines to ensure proper and timely reporting to funding agencies. \n\n• Oversees and helps prepare annual operating budgets and reviews expenditures to ensure the budget limits are not exceeded. \n\n• Prepares and helps oversee the preparation and processing of the biweekly payroll. \n\n• Reviews and oversees accounting and financial documents for accuracy and compliance with purchasing & investment policies and procedures. \n\n• Prepares and oversees the preparation of monthly status reports of funds and expenditures. \n\n• Reviews and oversees the classification, coding, allocation, posting, and balancing of accounts payable.\n\n• Prepares and oversees the preparation of invoices for agency programs and reconciliation of receipts.\n\n• Works with the Grants Administrator to coordinate the accounts and grants receivable for all program areas. \n\n• Prepares and tracks purchase requisitions and purchase orders. \n\n• Reviews and prepares the reconciliation of bank accounts. \n\n• Research and oversee the reconciliation of discrepancies and report findings. \n\n• Oversees and assists with the preparation of the annual financial audit.\n\n\nEducation and Basic Requirements \n\n• Five (5) years experience in accounting and financial operations. \n\n• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. \n\n• Experience with grants and contracts, government accounting, and computerized accounting applications.\n\n• Have and maintain an acceptable driving record and Texas Class C Operator’s License.\n\n• Applicants with CPA certification will be given preference. \n\n• Applicants with a working knowledge of Tyler software will be given preference.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to apply online
