Summary A Line Cook at The Pig & Pint is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing hot and cold food items, properly portioning ingredients before cooking, and assisting with final plate presentation, including plating and garnishing. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with Managers, BOH, and FOH Team Members. Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English. Ability to initiate and maintain professional and friendly conversations. Ability to follow printed recipes and plating specifications. Professional appearance that is appealing and approachable to internal and external guests. Must have flexible availability Strong problem-solving skills to define issues, gather information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have reliable access to a mobile phone for communication regarding shift schedules, updates, and potential on-call availability. The ability to receive texts, calls, or app notifications in a timely manner is essential to the role. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served. Ability to recognize and adapt to the flow of business. Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment. Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly. Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed. Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Physical Demands Must be able to lift heavy objects above shoulder level When performing the duties of this job, a Line Cook will be required to be continually walking, standing, and using their hands. Work Environment The work environment is consistently wet, hot, and noisy. The work environment is stressful due to our guests' expectations, attention to detail, and the volume of business.
