Job Description Mission Statement Everett Athletics strives to educate and inspire student athletes to be the BEST version of themselves! Responsibilities Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved. Proper communication with principal, athletic director, and parents. Responsible for determining the athlete’s academic eligibility. Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is always played when students are present. Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached, including supervision of the gym and locker room areas until the area is secured before and after practices, contests, and bus trips. Enforce discipline and always encourage sportsmanship-like behavior, in accordance with the standards set by the Principal and Athletic Department by EPS. Perform all other duties as the principal and/or athletic director may deem to be in the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school. Qualifications Previous cheerleading coaching experience is desirable. Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport. Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens. CPR certification.
