Safety Manager

Description We are seeking a corporate manager to develop and oversee safety programs for a multi-state, multiple worksite organization. Qualifications Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of two years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft software applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of OSHA Regulations. Ability to read and write general business correspondence. Ability to analyze and interpret reports, technical procedures, regulations, and policies. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, or public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form and solve problems involving several concrete variables. Responsibilities Establish and administer safety management programs for warehouse distribution center operations, to include policies, procedures, metrics, audits, and continuous improvement plans. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements (e.g., OSHA, hazardous materials, and workers’ compensation reporting requirements). Conduct job hazard analyses and risk assessments for warehouse activities (powered industrial trucks, racking, order picking, palletizing, manual material handling, and pedestrian traffic control) and implement effective controls. Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis to develop corrective/preventive actions and verify effectiveness. Assist in the development and delivery of company-wide safety training. Plan and execute routine site inspections and formal audits; track findings to closure and validate sustained compliance. Partner with leaders in Operations, HR, and Fleet to drive safe work practices, accountability, and engagement. Maintain required safety records and documentation, including OSHA logs (300/300A/301), training records, written programs, and SDS management. Oversee emergency preparedness, including fire prevention, spill response, severe weather procedures, evacuation drills, and first-aid/CPR/AED program coordination. Implement and maintain workplace violence prevention strategies and training. Support safe facility and equipment management through programs such as racking inspections, dock safety, aisle marking, storage standards, and housekeeping. Evaluate and recommend PPE and safety equipment, to include budgeting and implementation of safety-related improvements. Prepare and present safety performance dashboards; analyze leading/lagging indicators and drive focused initiatives (e.g., PIT incidents, slips/trips/falls, ergonomic risk reduction). Ensure safe management of on-site contractors and visitors. Maintain knowledge of current developments in area of expertise. Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
