Job Title: Project Engineer

Client Overview

This role sits within a global materials science and technology company's engineering organization, supporting a capacity expansion project for an optical fiber cable manufacturing operation. You'd work alongside project managers and engineers to keep a complex build on track, splitting time between office based administrative work and hands on floor support.

What You'll Do

• Manage project schedules, deadlines, and calendars
• Organize and schedule meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes
• Manage safety paperwork for contractors and maintain PSSR documentation for each line
• Handle equipment and team ordering requests, and track inventory
• Support shipping and movement of materials and parts between plants for conversion and build projects
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, budgets, and reports
• Track project progress and milestones to ensure key deliverables are met on time
• Facilitate communication between project team members, departments, and external stakeholders
• Monitor project budgets and process invoices, purchase orders, and related financial documentation
• Provide technical support on the floor for equipment installation and troubleshooting

What We Need From You

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience in an administrative or project support role
• Comfortable using project management software
• Strong organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work in a hybrid floor and office environment, including clean room areas

Preferred / Bonus

• Project management certification such as CAPM or PMP
• Experience with optical cable industry related projects
• OSHA safety certification
• Experience with JMP or Minitab
