Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Manager
Location: Austin, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: Up to $150,000/year
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000

Schedule: Preferred 5 Days/Week (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) | Potential 4 x 10-Hour Shifts
We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for a Level III NICU within a leading acute care hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving clinical excellence, patient safety, quality outcomes, and staff development while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced NICU leader or a strong Charge Nurse/CNC ready to advance into management.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Texas RN License or Compact RN License.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of acute care nursing experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of leadership, supervisory, Charge Nurse, or Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) experience in an acute care setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability to drive quality improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications• Previous NICU leadership experience.
• Specialty Certification (required within six months of hire).
• ACLS Certification.
• NRP Certification.
Responsibilities• Lead daily NICU operations and staffing activities.
• Promote evidence-based clinical practices and patient safety initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharge processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Drive quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Support employee development, engagement, and performance management.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement operational improvements.
• Ensure proper maintenance and compliance of clinical equipment.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional patient care.
