Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in a medical-surgical setting, ensuring safety and adherence to clinical protocols. The nurse will be accountable for medication administration, wound care, documentation, and patient admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications following the 5 rights of medication administration.
• Perform wound care according to physician orders and hospital policies.
• Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Conduct patient admissions and discharges in compliance with hospital protocols.
• Monitor patients using 3-lead (Masimo) telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Complete competency assessments during orientation and maintain up-to-date clinical skills.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in a medical-surgical unit preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
• Ability to perform patient assessments and deliver patient-centered care.
• Comfortable working with telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Commitment to professional development and compliance with hospital policies.
