About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and help accelerate the growth of our banking, payments, and service offerings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic relationships with fintechs, program managers, payment companies, embedded finance providers, and other ecosystem partners. This role will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, expand our partnership network, and increase utilization of Zenus' banking and payment capabilities.

The Business Development Manager will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in shaping the future growth of the organization.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Build and execute a business development strategy focused on fintech partnerships, payment providers, program managers, and embedded banking opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects through outbound outreach, referrals, networking, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, solution positioning, commercial negotiations, contracting, and handoff for implementation.
• Build strong relationships with prospective partners and act as a trusted advisor throughout the evaluation and onboarding process.
• Collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Product, Technology, and Legal teams to assess and onboard new partners.
• Develop commercial proposals, business cases, pricing structures, and partnership models.
• Identify opportunities to increase payment volumes, deposits, fee income, and other strategic revenue streams.
• Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and forecasting within CRM systems.
• Monitor industry trends across fintech, payments, Banking-as-a-Service, embedded finance, ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, and card programs.
• Represent Zenus at conferences, trade events, webinars, and industry networking opportunities.
• Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management on business development activity, sales pipeline, partnership opportunities, and growth initiatives.
• Act as a Zenus ambassador across the fintech and payments ecosystem.

What You Need for This Role

You're a self-starter and can manage yourself. You have the relevant experience of knowing how to build and grow strategic partnerships while maintaining a hands-on approach in a fast-growing organization.

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or relationship management within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.
• Proven track record of originating and closing strategic commercial partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of banking and payment ecosystems, including ACH, Wire, FedNow, card programs, and embedded finance solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet performance goals.
• Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms and business development reporting tools.
• Business-level Spanish and English.
