Salary: $10.36 - $13.99 Hourly Location : Casper Aquatics Center - Casper, WY Job Type: Non-Full-Time Position Job Number: 1226-10 Department: Parks, Recreation, and Public Facilities Department Division: Aquatics (970) Opening Date: 04/21/2026 Closing Date: 6/30/2026 11:59 PM Mountain Class Summary Assigned to: Aquatics Now hiring for our summer season. 6positions available A typical day involves greeting guests, selling pool admissions, handling cash or card transactions, preparing and selling concession snacks and drinks, cleaning the counter area, and answering guest questions. It's a fun, social job-great for people who enjoy working outdoors, interacting with the public, and being part of a team. The ideal candidates are friendly, dependable, good with money, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a busy, sometimes noisy environment. Basic math skills and customer service experience are a plus. Incumbents are responsible for providing courteous customer service and cashier services; including collecting admission fees, answering phones, responding to customer questions, and related work as required. REPORTING STRUCTURE: Receives direct supervision from higher level supervisory and management staff. Typical Class Essential Duties 1.Provides front line customer service needs at a facility entrance. 2.Collects admission fees, pre-packaged food purchases, and/or retail items and maintains related records to follow City policies and procedures relating to accounts receivable tasks. 3.Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and there is adequate change available. 4.Stocks supplies such as food or retail sales inventory in a safe and efficient manner. 5.Maintains clean and orderly cashier station and performs basic routine cleaning tasks. 6.Provides general customer service and communication with the public regarding safety, policies, rules, and general information about the facility or event. 7.Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor. 8.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Knowledge (position requirements at entry): Knowledge of: • Basic customer service principles. • Basic mathematical calculations. Abilities (position requirements at entry): Ability to: • Work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays. • Learn cashiering methods and procedures. • Learn cash register operation. • Routinely demonstrate the City of Casper core values. • Follow all City safety rules and procedures and reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor. • Facilitate visitor and customer traffic to their appropriate destination. • Encourage safety protocols to all visitors and customers. • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests. • Maintain attention to detail in a work situation with frequent interruptions. • Handle multiple customers at the same time. • Learn general layout of facility to provide assistance to visitors and customers. • Organize and/or prioritize to be efficient and effective with multiple tasks. • Operate modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications. • Maintain a neat and professional appearance. • Communicate effectively. • Follow written and verbal instructions and direction. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Training, Experience & Certifications EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE • No previous training or experience required. • First Aid/CPR, preferred. • Must be at least 15 years of age. • Must be at least 16 years of age to perform food service preparation. MINOR LABOR RESTRICTIONS 15 Years • Maximum hours of work on a school day: 3 hours • Maximum hours of work during a school week: 18 hours • Maximum hours of work on a non-school day: 8 hours • Maximum hours of work during a non-school week: 40 hours • Work hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm • Extended to 9:00pm from June 1st through Labor Day • NO operating power-driven equipment at all, on public roads or on City grounds • Includes all power-driven tools such as trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, etc. • Includes all cars, trucks, ATVs, golf carts, riding mowers, etc. • Cannot drive any vehicle (including personal) for work purposes - i.e. errands or changing work locations • Cannot utilize any type of oven to reheat or cook food • Cannot function as a slide monitor at the top of elevated water slides 16 Years • Maximum hours of work on a school day and non-school day: 8 hours • Maximum hours of work during a school week and non-school week: 40 hours • Work hours: 5:00am to 10:00pm on a school night • Extended to 12:00am on non-school nights • NO driving on public roadways, even with a valid driver's license • Cannot drive any vehicle (including personal) for work purposes - i.e. errands or changing work locations • May operate ATVs, golf carts, riding mowers, etc. on City grounds ONLY (may not go on public roadways) • Must meet WARM driving criteria in order to operate ATVs, golf carts, riding mowers, etc. on City grounds • May operate weed eaters, leaf blowers, and the like, but no other power-driven equipment or tools 17 Years • Maximum hours of work on a school day and non-school day: 8 hours • Maximum hours of work during a school week and non-school week: 40 hours • Work hours: 5:00am to 10:00pm on a school night • Extended to 12:00am on non-school nights • May operate weed eaters, leaf blowers, and the like, but no other power-driven equipment or tools • May operate ATVs, golf carts, riding mowers, etc. on City grounds ONLY (may not go on public roadways) • Must meet WARM driving criteria in order to operate ATVs, golf carts, riding mowers, etc. on City grounds • Eligible to drive vehicles (cars or light-duty trucks) on public roadways with the following restrictions: • Driving is limited to daylight hours • Cannot have more than three (3) passengers • Cannot drive more than 33% of the scheduled workday or 20% of the scheduled workweek • Cannot operate a vehicle over 6,000 pounds • Cannot tow vehicles OR trailers • Must meet strict driving eligibility criteria in order to drive on public roadways: • Must have a valid Wyoming Drivers License • Cannot have ANY prior moving violations • Must have taken AND passed a driver's education course The City of Casper does not offer any benefits for employees who hold regular part-time positions who do not meet minimum hours worked.
