Structural Facilities Engineer (Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company. Location: Huntsville, AL. Positions: Experienced or Senior level within the Projects Assets Construction & Engineering (PACE) team of Boeing’s Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) organization. Overview Responsible for structural design and analysis for building systems and equipment support, including foundation design, roadway repairs, building modifications and large equipment installations projects. The role supports reactive equipment repairs and planning/execution of construction projects. Responsibilities Lead project teams to develop moderately complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provide maintenance support for the structural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds, including advanced seismic designs. Review structural/seismic designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, building codes and regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices and materials. Lead teams to ensure accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlines; identify errors and document construction changes to align with regulatory requirements, facility standards and record retention requirements. Lead production or procurement of detailed design documents and use appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters. Coordinate designs; review and approve documents. Provide recommendations for strategic, short-term and long-term infrastructure planning; complete studies; analyze current conditions and future requirements; recommend capital improvements; gather and analyze data; and work with both internal and external customers to identify and assess alternatives and impacts. Lead in interpretation and analysis of regulations, standards, codes and ordinances with respect to project requirements. Translate customer requirements into conceptual design by analyzing intended use/occupancy and desired aesthetics, conducting code research, developing preliminary design elements, determining interdisciplinary engineering support requirements, estimating resource costs/requirements, identifying materials, equipment and services, and developing initial project schedule in order to establish project scope. Offer project alternatives to ensure compliance and provide support to secure permits. Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor’s degree or greater in Engineering or a related field. 3+ years experience using AutoCAD (or similar CAD package). 3+ years experience in a Civil and/or Structural engineering role. 3+ years experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. 3+ years experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Professional Engineer (PE) license. 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years experience in design, analysis and evaluation of building structures, including foundations, roofing, framing, floors, equipment supports, seismic bracing, roadways, etc. 5+ years experience leading construction projects. 5+ years experience with building and safety codes. 5+ years experience leading cross functional engineering teams. Experience working in a production environment. Pay & Benefits Experienced Level: $103,700 - $140,300. Senior Level: $126,650 - $171,350.
