POSITION SUMMARY :

The primary responsibility of the housing program supervisor is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Case Aides and Case Managers of housing programs. They facilitate homeless housing referrals to NAC in conjunction with NAC’s outreach and engagement specialists, and the Director of Housing Programs. They provide the necessary management responsibilities to the program participants and NAC staff through initial move-in, orientation of program guidelines and case management services. The ideal candidate will have current knowledge of the Maricopa Regional Continuum of Care (CoC), Coordinated Entry System (CES), expertise of homeless services in Maricopa County, case management practices, and experience supervising staff with high acuity clients. The housing program supervisor is required to complete the responsibilities of the position in the field and on-site. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Ensure the safety of staff and program participants at the facilities.
• Ensure coordination of care across housing programs, behavioral and primary health care, in partnership with participants, to keep participants stably housed. 
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized appearance of the environment.
• Maintain respectful, supportive, and encouraging environment in all interactions with program participants and staff.
• Provide training and monitors proper implementation of program model by providing supervision and feedback to program staff. 
• Meet with assigned program participants for housing plan development and review progress weekly with the resident. Teach and monitor behaviors/skills of program participants according to individualized plans.
• Oversees participant admissions, orientations, and discharges for all participants. 
• Ensures HMIS data entry is timely and accurate.
• Ensures all client level and program reporting is complete and accurate, submitted in a timely manner and adheres to agency, contractual, licensure, and accreditation requirements.
• Receives food deliveries and ensures that meals are dispersed accurately.
• Manages staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for the housing program.
• Creates annual goals and monitors professional development; Executes Annual Performance Reviews.
• Ensures staff complies with NAC policies and procedures; Creates, delivers, and monitors disciplinary action including creation of Performance Improvement Plans. Terminates employees as needed in conjunction with the Director of Housing Programs.
• Conducts recruitment process for vacant positions within the position purview. 
• Develops professional relationships with landlords within the community for seamless participant transition from housing program to permanent housing.
• Participates in housing-based community meetings approved by the Director of Housing Programs. 
• Creates and conducts street outreach strategies to target specific areas. Maintains outreach reporting of contacts made and outcomes in real-time.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :

• High School Diploma/GED or five (5) years of equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

• Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card 
• Trauma Inform Care training preferred.
• Motivational Interviewing preferred.
• Fair Housing experience preferred.
• Housing First experience preferred.

SKILLS REQUIREMENT :

• Must be or become First Aid and CPR certified within the first 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout entire employment. 
• Must have or obtain a food handlers card within the first 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
• Excellent communication skills- written and oral
• Experience in working with the Native American population preferred and homeless youth.
• MS Office skills
• HMIS data experience
• Behavioral Health Training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods.

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT :

This position is considered to be Exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek.
