Vocational Rehabilitation CounselorOpen Until FilledGeneral Description:This position interviews and assesses clients to determine individual needs, abilities, and eligibility for services by interpreting medical and psychological evaluations. Responsibilities include providing clients with information regarding available services and eligibility requirements to support informed decision-making and client choice.The position utilizes vocational assessments, rehabilitation counseling, and supportive services to empower clients in achieving independence and employment goals. Duties include developing rehabilitation plans in coordination with physicians, monitoring client progress, and assisting clients in creating an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) with clearly defined employment outcomes, progress measures, and identified client and counselor responsibilities.This role collaborates with local school districts and educational institutions to provide transition services for students and youth with disabilities. Additional responsibilities include working with employers to identify appropriate employment opportunities, providing job coaching and training, and delivering post-employment services to help clients maintain successful employment.The position also conducts financial needs and resource assessments to determine client participation in rehabilitation program costs and provides ongoing counseling throughout the rehabilitation process to ensure client needs are effectively addressed.Working for the State of Wyoming offers more than a paycheck.
