Requisition ID: 929722 Store #: 000290 LensCrafters Position: Full-Time General Function The Optometric Technician creates exceptional value by delivering the LensCrafters Experience and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality optometric care. The role focuses on seamless execution of the patient experience, linking the doctor and retail functions together to meet store performance goals. Major Duties and Responsibilities Display a professional image and greet patients promptly. Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner. Assist the optometrist during eye examinations by obtaining medical history, preparing patients, and performing tests to aid accurate diagnosis and treatment. Review prescriptions and patient information for details, identifying special needs and consulting with the optician, managing doctor, or retail management as necessary. Show patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers. Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and patient volume. Resolve unsatisfied patient situations quickly and effectively. Manage scheduling procedures and operate computer systems. Handle and file all patient records in an organized manner in accordance with HIPAA. Support exam retention and cultivation through NEE calls, 24‑hour confirmation calls, and no‑show callbacks. Place contact lens trial orders, ensure no expired contacts, and maintain the contact lens room in an orderly manner. Enter customer, patient, insurance, and eye care service data into the CIAO system with accurate prescription information. Maintain a safe working environment for associates, customers, and patients. Support compliance of visual merchandising in exam lanes, assessment room, and contact lens area. Adapt to various examination scenarios and remain personable with patients and staff. Perform all pre‑examination testing accurately and explain measurements to patients. Provide coaching and guidance on contact lens care using clinical and product knowledge. Maintain and disinfect equipment and provide clinical support to the optometrist as needed. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and contact lenses in exam rooms. Support retail functions as capacity and patient demand allow. Basic Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of one year of strong customer‑service experience (internal or external). Leadership, strong communication, listening, problem‑solving, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to assess priorities, manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Autonomous work style. Knowledge of office environment and strong basic math skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in retail and/or optical settings. Experience in healthcare environments. Pay Range $23.52 – $30.72 per hour.
