The Central New York group's main business is the implementation of mission-critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.## Job Description**\*\*The Field Service Technician MUST live a commutable distance to Syracuse, New York. The Public Safety customers are located centrally in the state of New York.\*\**** Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results* Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues* Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques* Team with Engineering, Project Management and Sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations* Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues* Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband systems.* Maintain, optimize, test and document complex communications systems.* Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments* Deliver knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks* Deliver knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques****Specific Knowledge/Skills:***** 2 year Associate Degree in Electronics or IT (preferred), or equivalent on-the-job experience* Security +, CompTIA or related certificate is highly desirable* Proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges.* Knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)* Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems and networking equipment* Computer literate with proficiency in Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access* Strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams* Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision* Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations****Candidate Requirements:***** Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.* Must reside in Central New York or be willing to commute to Public Safety customers located in Central New York* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.* Must have a current, valid driver’s license and no traffic violations.* Must be willing to travel 30% of the time as needed.#LI-CC1This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USDConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
