Machinist

SUMMARY:

Join Eastey, a leading manufacturer of shrink packaging equipment and automated case sealing systems, as a Manual Machinist. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for producing mechanical parts for production and engineering prototypes using manual mills and lathes. You'll work closely with the engineering team, follow production schedules, maintain shop equipment, and contribute to a clean and organized shop environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Part Production:

• Follow work orders and understand machine priorities from production lists.
• Pull materials from inventory and set up manual mills/lathes to produce parts.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop and fabricate new prototype parts.
• Interpret detailed drawings and sketches.
• Inspect finished parts and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Track tooling inventory and requisition necessary supplies.

Computer System:

• Record completed parts in spreadsheets.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and update systems accordingly.

Miscellaneous

• Maintain general housekeeping of work area and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2 years of machining experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Proficient with measuring instruments and geometry/trigonometry concepts.
• Familiar with metal properties and CAD systems.
• Skilled in using Excel and various power tools.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.

This position also demands specific visual abilities, including close-up vision and the capacity to adjust focus.

Pay Range: $20 - $26 per hour
