About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of Labor and Delivery with post-partum experience required. License: Valid registered nursing license preferred. Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM. Must-Have: Sterile vaginal exam experience required. Fetal monitoring skills/experience required, including use of external and internal fetal monitoring, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required. Experience managing/administering epidural anesthesia required. Description: RNs will work both in labor and post-partum. Average Daily Census: 8 deliveries per day; 15 post-partum patients per day. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Floating to meet facility needs may be necessary. No block schedule accommodations available. First-time travelers are accepted. Pending licenses are accepted. Ideally, no more than 5 days of requested time off will be permitted. The facility is a teaching hospital with a total of 258 staffed beds. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams such as IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. Daily patient population includes neonates and adults. Procedures performed in the unit include Cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries. The unit consists of 13 labor and delivery beds, 5 triage rooms, and 27 post-partum rooms.
