About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery with post-partum experience License: Valid state license preferred; pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Sterile vaginal exam experience required Description: RNs work both in labor and postpartum. Average daily census includes approximately 8 deliveries and 15 postpartum patients. Candidates should have experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) and managing/administering epidural anesthesia. Experience with external fetal monitoring, internal fetal monitoring, and intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration is required. Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns are essential. Candidates will work every other weekend and may float as needed to meet facility requirements. First-timers will be accepted for this position. The facility is a teaching hospital with a Level 2 trauma center, offering interdisciplinary support services. Special equipment and resources are available for patient care. The unit consists of a 13-bed labor and delivery area, 5 triage rooms, and post-partum rooms.
