Harvey, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Customer Service Representative / Inside Sales professional to support business and industrial customers with product inquiries, orders, sales, and account needs.

This is not a traditional call-center, retail, banking, or office-only customer service position. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, distribution, equipment, building materials, or technical-product environment and be comfortable working both at the sales counter and alongside warehouse/operations personnel.

Customers may include contractors, manufacturers, welding and fabrication shops, marine businesses, medical facilities, restaurants, and other commercial accounts. This position requires someone who is organized, dependable, confident communicating with customers, comfortable learning technical products, and able to take ownership of customer needs from start to finish.

Essential Duties:

• Assist business and industrial customers by phone, email, and at the sales counter with product inquiries, orders, pricing, availability, and service needs.
• Handle inbound sales inquiries and help customers identify appropriate products and services.
• Make outbound follow-up calls and emails to prospective and existing customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial and industrial customers.
• Recommend products and services based on customer needs and product availability.
• Explain product features, pricing, availability, and applicable credit terms.
• Prepare quotes and accurately enter and process customer sales orders.
• Monitor inventory and stock levels to assist customers with product availability.
• Provide estimated delivery dates based on inventory and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate customer product training when applicable.
• Maintain accurate customer, sales, order, and account information in company systems.
• Work closely with outside sales representatives, warehouse personnel, drivers, and operations to ensure customer needs are handled accurately and efficiently.
• Take ownership of customer orders and concerns from initial contact through resolution or delivery.
• Investigate and resolve issues involving orders, products, inventory, and deliveries.
• Assist with warehouse and branch operations as needed.
• Regularly move, handle, and assist with filling cylinders weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Operate a pallet jack and forklift as required.
• Assist with general branch and facility upkeep as needed, which may include tasks such as cleaning restrooms and mowing grass.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly use equipment and materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills:

• Previous experience in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, distribution, equipment, building materials, technical-product, or similar B2B environment strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting business-to-business customers in a customer service, inside sales, counter sales, order-processing, parts, equipment, or similar role preferred.
• Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on branch environment rather than a traditional call-center or office-only CSR setting.
• Experience with customer orders, quotes, pricing, inventory, product availability, and/or delivery coordination preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn technical products, terminology, and customer applications.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to professionally handle questions, concerns, and complaints.
• Comfortable making outbound customer follow-up and sales calls.
• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple customer needs and priorities simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and order-processing skills.
• Dependable and willing to take ownership of customer needs from start to finish.
• Ability to work effectively with sales, warehouse, operations, and delivery personnel.
• Basic mathematical skills, including percentages, discounts, pricing, and routine business calculations.
• Ability to read and understand safety information, operating instructions, procedures, and product documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet-based applications, inventory software, CRM platforms, and/or order-processing systems.
• Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.
• Willingness to assist wherever needed within the branch.

Schedule & Pay:

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• 30-minute lunch
• Very limited overtime
• Weekend work is rare
• Starting pay: $22/hr+, depending on experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, handle materials, and communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to regularly lift, move, and handle cylinders and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely use material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, as required.
• Comfortable working between sales-counter, office, warehouse, and outdoor areas.
• Ability and willingness to perform general branch and facility upkeep as needed.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions may be required.
