About This Role
Lead Teacher – Family Childcare | Lilly Gardens Learning Center (Milwaukee, WI)
Lilly Gardens Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher for our family childcare program. This role involves leading a mixed-age group, creating a nurturing home-like environment, and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and meets Wisconsin Lead Teacher qualifications with experience in a licensed childcare setting.
What You'll DoDuties:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for a mixed-age group
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home-like environment
- Supervise children at all times and ensure their well-being
- Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development
- Maintain daily reports, attendance, and required documentation
- Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s progress
- Ensure compliance with Wisconsin childcare licensing regulations
- Assist with meals, routines, and daily transitions
✅ Requirements:
- Must meet Wisconsin Lead Teacher qualifications (Registry Level preferred)
- Experience working in a licensed family childcare or center setting
- Strong leadership and classroom management skills
- Ability to care for a mixed-age group of children
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Able to pass background check and meet all state licensing requirements
- Valid driver’s license preferred, but not required
✨ Nice to Have (Not Required):
- Registry Level 4 or higher
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience in a family childcare setting
- Knowledge of Wisconsin childcare licensing rules
- Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
- Strong communication and parent engagement skills
- Bilingual (Spanish or another language)
- Experience with behavior guidance and social-emotional learning
