Lead Teacher – Family Childcare | Lilly Gardens Learning Center (Milwaukee, WI)

Lilly Gardens Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher for our family childcare program. This role involves leading a mixed-age group, creating a nurturing home-like environment, and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and meets Wisconsin Lead Teacher qualifications with experience in a licensed childcare setting.

Duties:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for a mixed-age group
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home-like environment
• Supervise children at all times and ensure their well-being
• Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development
• Maintain daily reports, attendance, and required documentation
• Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s progress
• Ensure compliance with Wisconsin childcare licensing regulations
• Assist with meals, routines, and daily transitions

✅ Requirements:

• Must meet Wisconsin Lead Teacher qualifications (Registry Level preferred)
• Experience working in a licensed family childcare or center setting
• Strong leadership and classroom management skills
• Ability to care for a mixed-age group of children
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, organized, and professional
• Able to pass background check and meet all state licensing requirements
• Valid driver’s license preferred, but not required

✨ Nice to Have (Not Required):

• Registry Level 4 or higher
• Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Experience in a family childcare setting
• Knowledge of Wisconsin childcare licensing rules
• Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
• Strong communication and parent engagement skills
• Bilingual (Spanish or another language)
• Experience with behavior guidance and social-emotional learning
