Utilities Technician I/II/III-Distribution

Job Title

Positions will work in the Utilities and Infrastructure Department--Distribution Division performing preventative maintenance and repairs on Town water and sewer lines to prevent sewage backup and subsequent water contamination.

Duties may include maintenance and repair of water and sewer lines; pipe and leak repairs; installation of water meters, taps, and splits; performing outfall and manhole inspections; meter and residential pressure checks; maintaining equipment, and assisting the other divisions of U&I as needed. The position requires a high school diploma, valid NC CDL (or the ability to obtain within 6 months), and preferably 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance of water/sewer lines or other infrastructure. Hiring ranges $39,790 - $44,720 depending on relevant work experience.
