Virtual Lab School Support Specialist - School Year 2026-2027 (Anticipated Vacancies) Spring Branch Independent School District Job Title: Virtual Lab School Support Specialist Reports To: Building Principal Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant) Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Days: 188 Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 203 Contract: None Date Revised: 11/15/2023 Primary Purpose: Manage virtual school students in a computer lab setting. Manage student behavior and lab procedures to ensure a productive learning environment. Qualifications/Skills: Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment. Educational Aide Certification. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work and communicate with high school students and adults effectively. High level of comfort with technology, including online learning environments. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Adhere to TEA and the district's policies and procedures. Take daily attendance each period. Monitor student progress in virtual courses, including daily monitoring, printing and analyzing progress reports. Communicate student behavior and course progress concerns to appropriate school personnel. Communicate and collaborate with virtual teachers. Assist students in the computer lab. Assist in communicating with parents. Perform related duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment Used: Computer and various office equipment. Working Conditions: Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public. Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of the computer. Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
