CMM Operator (2nd Shift)

Location: Cary, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM)
Pay: $22.00-$24.00/hour + Overtime Available

Are you an experienced Quality Inspector looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. Previous CMM experience is a plus-but not required. If you have a strong quality inspection background and experience using precision measuring tools, we'll provide the training needed to become successful in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity to work a four-day workweek while building valuable skills in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
• Learn and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Apply basic GD&T principles to verify part conformance.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, thread gages, and gage pins.
• Record inspection results and communicate quality concerns to production personnel.
• Work closely with CNC machinists and manufacturing teams to maintain product quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of manufacturing quality inspection experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Thread gages
  • Gage pins
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn CMM operation and inspection software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
