Job Summary Supervises comprehensive medical care for assigned students and/or student athletes, provides coverage for department or athletic events, and oversees Athletic Trainer Interns and student athletic trainers in injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. Responsibilities Provides comprehensive prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and daily healthcare for assigned students and/or student-athletes. Maintains accurate and HIPAA‑compliant medical records for all assigned individuals. Completes administrative duties as assigned by departmental leadership. Develops and enforces institutional policies related to medical care of students and student‑athletes. Maintains consistent and effective communication with medical personnel and athletic department staff. Serves as a subject matter expert on relevant aspects of Athletic Training services. Educates students and athletes on injury management, concussion protocols, at‑home care, and rehabilitation procedures. Designs and implements individualized rehabilitation and injury‑prevention plans based on each student’s needs and goals. Refers students and athletes to appropriate healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care when necessary. Reviews and updates relevant policies, procedures, treatment protocols, and standing medical orders. Collaborates with appropriate personnel to develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans for all athletic facilities. Manages inventory and ensures proper maintenance of medical supplies, equipment, AEDs, medical kits, supplements, and the cleanliness and organization of the Athletic Training Room. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Athletic Training or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Other Required Qualifications Current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license. State of Georgia Athletic Training Licensure. NATABOC Certification. First Aid / CPR / AED certification. Required Experience On‑job training provided. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Advanced degree in a related field. Preferred Experience Experience in collegiate sports athletic training or rehabilitation. Previous relevant experience in athletic training at a post‑secondary level program or professional training in a related sports program. Salary and Benefits The budgeted salary is $55,000 per year. Adhere to and ensure compliance with all HIPAA standards and regulations. Knowledge Familiarity with NCAA rules and compliance standards. Knowledge and experience with healthcare management software. Knowledge of standards and best practices in sports medicine. Knowledge of conservative RTP interpretation, emerging techniques, skills, current industry research, and application. Understanding of industry standards and accepted practices. Experience with empowering and motivating students. Skills Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills. Analytical thinking and creative skills. Proficiency with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite). Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills. Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette.
