Travel RN - Medical ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a major cancer hospital and research center in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency. Requirements Active Ohio or compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of MICU experience required Proficiency with mechanical ventilators required IV insertion skills required Epic EMR experience required 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co‑worker references are not accepted First‑time travelers will not be considered for this position Responsibilities Position is in a Medical ICU (MICU) at a large cancer hospital and research center Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with complex oncologic, pulmonary, and systemic conditions—including oncologic emergencies, COPD, ARDS, GI bleed, sepsis, pulmonary hypertension, and autoimmune disorders Common treatments include mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, central venous catheters, chemotherapy administration, and plasmapheresis Many patients have underlying pulmonary and GI conditions requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy support Night shift: 3x12‑hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 Rotating 12‑hour day/night contracts may result in scheduling across days, nights, or a combination based on department needs, reviewed every 4‑week scheduling period Epic EMR experience required Local candidates are accepted Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6‑month separation All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and built into the contract, with a maximum of 7 days Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt Parking options are available for purchase on campus through CampusParc, including garage and surface lot permits at various price points Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
