Performs specimen processing and moderate complexity laboratory testing following prescribed training and SOPs complying with the laboratory QA/QC program. Is prompt for work and seeks support and guidance if needed regarding absenteeism. This position is located at the Fred Hutch South Lake Union campus at 825 Eastlake Ave E., Seattle WA 98109. 1.0 FTE- Full time - Variable 8 hour shift dependent on lab needs, M-F 0530 to 2230 and Sat-Sun/Holidays 0600-1830 Responsibilities Handle biological specimens performing processing and clinical assays following the SOP. Operates analytical instruments. Performs maintenance, calibrations, and QC consulting a CLT/CT as needed. Under the supervision of a CLT/CT, releases results following the SOP. Qualifications Required: High school graduate or equivalent Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and word processing. Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Attention to detail. Ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive, and complex healthcare environment. Ability to identify and triage issues appropriately. Familiarity with medical terminology. Must be able to differentiate between colors and pass a standardized color vision screen to perform this role Preferred: Bachelor of Science in chemical, biological, or physical science Clinical or research lab experience preferred, experience in a healthcare setting preferred The hourly pay range for this position is from $28.36 to $40.37 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. 1.0 FTE- Full time - Variable 8 hour shift dependent on lab needs, M-F 0530 to 2230 and Sat-Sun/Holidays 0600-1830 Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
