The work of this department is critical in our efforts to find compliance challenges and identify areas of risk so that we can fix them. The main functions of this new department are identifying areas of compliance risk and opportunities to mitigate those risks, including through incident reporting and investigations, overseeing Electric Operations and Power Generation CAP, and validating the controls on the organization. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. A reasonable salary range i Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $90,000.00 Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $113,000 Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $136,000 Minimum Base Salary (California) $86,000.00 Mid Base Salary (California) $107,000.00 Maximum Base Salary (California) $129,000.00 Position Summary PG&E is seeking a business professional to be a member of the Electric Incident Investigations (EII) Team as an Incident Investigator, Career. The EII team is responsible for reporting Electric Incidents (EIRs) to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), investigating EIRs and areas of compliance risk to determine the cause and any corrective or preventive measures to mitigate reoccurrence. This role will have a high level of visibility with PG&E leadership and will support one or many aspects of EII's scope. A strong applicant will be an organized, motivated, curious, a consensus builder, and seeks to understand the "bigger picture". Location of this position is flexible within PG&E service territory and will require occasional travel to other areas around PG&E's service territory. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned office based on business needs. Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Supervisor, Electric Incident Investigations Job Responsibilities and Expectations * Investigates and manages investigations of Electric Incidents of low to medium risk to PG&E, including working with PG&Es Legal team. Prepare and submit summary of investigation (20-day report) and Work Group Evaluation (WGE), including identifying corrective actions and gaining consensus with senior and executive leadership to mitigate risk. * Identifies and summarizes compliance risk concerns, including forecasting potential Notices of Violation (NOVs) from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). * Investigates concerns of low to medium risk to PG&E, including working with PG&Es Legal team. Prepares and presents summary of findings and risk to PG&E to senior and executive leaders. * Manages low to medium complexity investigations and data extracts/analysis, ensuring data accuracy. * Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts. * Analyzes data using various advances statistical tools to develop reports, summaries, and trends. * Demonstrates and utilizes broad expertise in data processing and data analysis and applies this knowledge to a number of different issues. * Project manages investigations, including building consensus with multiple senior leaders to stay on schedule. Background Qualifications Minimum * BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience * 2 years of related work experience Desired * Experience with electric operation systems (data systems within electric operations). * Strong problem-solving, organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. * Proven ability to prepare materials for and effectively communicate/present complex findings to senior and executive leaders with clarity, gain consensus on path forward on aggressive timelines. * Project management skills including ability to handle multiple projects with critical deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. * Proficient skill in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, graphing, VBA) * Certification in Root Cause Analysis (e.g., TapRooT®, Cause Mapping, or equivalent) * Professional Certified Investigator (PCI - ASIS) * Professional Engineer (P.E.) * Lean Six Sigma Certification * Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
