Our academic affiliation ensures access to cutting-edge research, technology, and training.We are proud to be one of the largest integrated multispecialty medical groups on the East Coast, with over 2,100 physicians committed to excellence, equity, and innovation in care delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct virtual inpatient-level care during 12-hour daytime shifts (7:00 am – 7:00 pm).Deliver after-hours emergency support (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) on approximately 50% of daytime shift days (includes phone, video visits, order entry).Collaborate closely with HAH nurses, paramedics, APPs, and referring providers to:Screen and admit patients to the Hospital at Home program.Conduct virtual "admission tuck-in" visits alongside in-home care teams.Manage acute clinical needs using remote and in-person resources.Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, documentation, and coordination of specialty consults.Support medical education and mentorship of students, residents, and APPs.Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings.Hybrid practice model: After initial onboarding, physicians may work from a HIPAA-compliant remote office within Massachusetts, with periodic in-person shifts at the Worcester command center for clinical, training, and team-building activities.Share weekend and holiday coverage equitably with the team.Optional opportunity to combine Virtual and Brick-and-Mortar Hospitalist roles if desired and aligned with departmental needs.Typical Day Schedule (Day Shift)7:00am–7:30am: Multidisciplinary rounds7:30am–8:30am: Admission consultations8:30am–1:00pm: Patient video visits, orders, documentation2:00pm–7:00pm: New admissions, "tuck-in" video visits, consultsOvernight coverage (50% of shifts): Emergency support (calls, tele-visits)QualificationsRequired:MD or DO degreeBoard Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family MedicineMassachusetts medical license (or ability to obtain)BLS and ACLS certificationRecent experience in inpatient acute careComfort with, or willingness to learn, telehealth technologyStrong collaboration and communication skillsCommitment to caring for medically and socially complex patients in non-traditional care environmentsPreferred:Experience working with geriatric and/or underserved populationsPrior exposure to home-based or value-based care modelsInterest in innovation, system improvement, and interdisciplinary teamworkWhy Join Us?Competitive salary and generous benefitsStipend for overnight coverage (with long-term goal of establishing dedicated night coverage)Flexible, hybrid work model with meaningful autonomyAcademic affiliation with UMass Chan Medical SchoolSupportive and mission-driven team cultureOpportunity to shape the future of care deliveryLiving in Central Massachusetts:Worcester offers the best of both worlds, urban sophistication with a small-town feel.
