Billing Specialist

Performs technical, analytical and customer service work in coordinating the billing operations for a diverse range of city services. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate billing, account maintenance, customer service, payment processing, collections activities and financial record-keeping. The billing specialist will handle detailed tasks including but not limited to bill generation, billing adjustments, account setup and maintenance, payment processing, collection activities, and customer inquiries, ensuring compliance with City policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) or more years directly related and progressively responsible experience in billing, collections or customer service functions; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
