Senior Underwriter, Pharmacy

Job Summary HCSC is seeking an experienced underwriting professional to join our Underwriting team. The selected candidate will quote and rate proposals and renewal projections, approve cases within established guidelines, lead pharmacy pricing and risk assessments, analyze utilization and trend drivers, and support the development of competitive, compliant proposals. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of pharmacy benefit design, claims, and market dynamics. Hybrid / Flex Work The position is hybrid/flex. The employee will work from the office three days per week and from home the other two days. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of direct experience in managed care or network management. 3 years of project management experience, including leading and planning projects. Experience with managed care/network management databases and knowledge of information flow. PC proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills. Self‑starter, able to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks/projects, and work in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of state and federal network management legislation and regulations. Key Functions Manage and maintain operational aspects of network programs. Plan and implement projects, enhancements, and initiatives. Coordinate cross‑functional departmental coordination. Administer program management and data maintenance/processing. Identify providers for recruitment or education, research and resolve issues, and answer inquiries. Develop and deliver communications and training materials, webinars, and related presentation material. Coordinate system testing and support network programs with HCSC plans. Serve as plan lead and coordinate with internal resources for implementation and operation tasks. Establish relationships with HCSC representatives and coordinate operational activities to promote synergies and consistency. Participate in BCA and/or external entities meetings when appropriate. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Compensation Base Pay Range $45,900.00 – $102,100.00. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
