Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves delivering high-quality emergency care in a Level 1 trauma center. The role requires adapting to a fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations, ranging from newborns to the elderly, with varying acuity levels. This opportunity is ideal for experienced nurses seeking a challenging trauma-focused environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that application process has been initiated; certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC; at least 2 years of nursing experience; previous travel assignment preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: SANE RN experience; working in a teaching hospital setting; proficiency in titration of vasopressor drips and cardiac drips.
• Operational Details:
  • Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles of the facility.
  • No day/night rotation; shifts are scheduled by the staffing manager, with the possibility of block scheduling and time-off requests.
  • Every other weekend and holiday work are required, based on department needs.
  • Floats to other units are rare, and travelers will primarily serve as help-all in the ED.
  • Emergency Department is staffed with at least 3 attendings per shift, charge nurses, and ED technicians at a ratio of 1:9; respiratory equipment troubleshooting and rhythm interpretation are expected from RNs.
  • CT or X-ray transport and lab draws are performed by radiology staff or nurses and techs, respectively.
