Overview The LPN-OB/GYN-Greenlawn, NY - Full Time Day Offsite position supports the healthcare team by assisting in planning and implementing care interventions, promoting high-quality patient care in a professional, efficient, and safe manner, and ensuring patient flow. The Offsite Licensed Practice Nurse provides personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to patients and maintains up-to-date knowledge to apply to everyday practice. Responsibilities Introduces self to patient and escorts the patient into the exam room. Prepares the patient for exams and procedures. Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians\' instructions to patients. Administers medications including all types of injections and IV therapy as needed and within the scope of licensure. Provides basic patient care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, performing catheterizations, or applying compresses. Collects, labels, and processes specimens accurately. Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms for patient visits. Assembles and uses equipment appropriate to the specific medical practice. Schedules follow-up appointments for patients as needed. Communicates delays effectively when necessary. Enters patient information into the computer accurately and in a timely manner. Manages the physician\'s desktop accurately and efficiently. Provides clerical support to patients including making appointments, booking procedures, obtaining pre-authorizations, and answering telephones. Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels. Must work under the supervision of the physician or Registered Nurse. Performs other related duties. Qualifications Must hold a current New York state LPN license. High school Diploma or equivalent Active BLS card from the American Heart Association Ability to read and write and perform basic arithmetic calculations to take and record height, vital signs, and to comprehend and follow verbal instructions when assisting physicians. Knowledge of basic biology, anatomy and physiology, typing and medical terminology. Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, physicians and other practice personnel. Ability to work independently, concentrate and pay attention to detail.
