Sterile Equipment TechnicianWe are seeking a Sterile Equipment Technician to join our team!The VA is seeking qualified Sterile Processing Technicians (Medical Supply Technicians – Sterile Processing) to provide support for the Sterile Processing Service (SPS). Responsibilities include:Decontamination of reusable medical equipment (RME)Preparation and packaging of instruments and equipmentSterilization activitiesInstrument tracking and inventory controlDistribution of sterile medical suppliesAll services must be performed in accordance with applicable VA, federal, state, and professional standards. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be evaluating issues on equipment, troubleshooting problems, implementing repairs based on the issues, and repairing minor and major malfunctions to the best of your ability. You will also work closely with each customer we service to build and maintain strong working relationships, provide follow-up services to ensure everything is functioning properly, and document all issues and repairs as necessary. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of electronics and equipment, and experience working with medical equipment.Communicate with customers to determine the problems they're experiencing with their equipmentTroubleshoot and diagnose issuesRepair both minor and major issues to equipment in a timely mannerFollow up on repairs with customers to ensure the issues are resolvedBuild and maintain excellent relationships with vendors and customersMaintain excellent, detailed records of all customer interactions and repairsHSPA or CBSPD CertificationStrong communication skillsStrong customer service skillsCompensation: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
