Part-Time Accounting Assistant

O2 Employment Services is working with a well-established local construction company to find their next Part-Time Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper. This position is based in Redding, CA. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and hands‑on QuickBooks experience. This is not an entry‑level accounting position. The company is seeking someone who is confident managing day‑to‑day accounting functions, payroll tax reporting, bookkeeping, and general office administration with minimal supervision. If you are organized, detail‑oriented, dependable, and enjoy working in a small business environment where your contributions make a direct impact, we'd love to hear from you. $25.00 per hour Part‑time opportunity Monday–Friday schedule (flexible hours may be available) Opportunity to become a valued long‑term member of a growing local company Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper – Qualifications Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks required (hands‑on professional experience is required) Experience processing payroll and payroll tax reporting required High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or degree is a plus Strong understanding of general accounting principles, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks Reliable, dependable, and self‑motivated with excellent attendance Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper – Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the construction industry is a plus Experience with job costing or construction accounting preferred Knowledge of California payroll practices and payroll tax reporting Experience preparing financial reports and assisting with month‑end reconciliation Process payroll and prepare payroll tax filings accurately and on time Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable Reconcile bank and credit card accounts Assist with month‑end and year‑end accounting processes Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Prepare reports and assist management with financial information as requested Perform general office administration and administrative support duties Organize and maintain accounting files and company records Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and team members Maintain confidentiality while handling company financial information Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
