Senior Product Manager

The Senior Product Manager will work as part of the Digitization and Automation team to help Sun King design, develop, and implement intelligent, tech-enabled solutions to help solve a large variety of our business problems. We are looking for candidates with an affinity for technology and automation, curiosity towards advancement in products, and strong communication skills for our in-house software development team.

What You Will Be Expected To Do:

1. Own the Product: Develop, prioritize, and implement product roadmaps (typically 6-12 months) grounded in user insights, field learnings, stakeholder feedback, and business ROI.
2. Prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable impact—either revenue growth or cost reduction.
3. Influence senior leadership to evaluate, prioritize, and greenlight high-impact product investments.
4. Make explicit prioritization trade-offs based on business impact, engineering capacity, and operational readiness.

1. Mentor and nurture different product team members by setting priorities, removing their blockers, and implementing best PM practices/frameworks.
2. Set high standards for documentation, prioritization rigor, and execution discipline.

1. Work on the full product lifecycle: Discovery, design, development, GTM, and sustained go‑lives.
2. Drive requirements definition: PRDs, workflow diagrams, edge cases, functional and non-functional requirements.
3. Ensure on‑time, high‑quality releases within defined turnaround times (TATs).
4. Own release planning, rollout sequencing, and adoption tracking across countries and teams.
5. Ensure every launch has clear success metrics, operational readiness, and rollback plans.

1. Partner daily with engineering teams to shape system design, APIs, and data models.
2. Head sprint planning, backlog grooming, and scope control.
3. Define a testing strategy focused on business-critical flows, failure modes, and realistic user behavior.
4. Use SQL and dashboards to validate product usage, data quality, and business impact post-launch.

1. Work on discovery efforts to identify issues in existing processes, user pain points, and competitive threats. Identify root causes behind process breakdowns, revenue leakage, fraud risk, or poor customer experience.
2. Translate observations into concrete problem statements, not abstract "user needs."
3. Push back on solutions that look good on paper but won't work at scale in the field.

1. Collaborate and act as the single-threaded owner across Engineering, Operations, Sales, Risk, Programs, Call center, Data etc.
2. Work on aligning scope, timelines, rollout plans, and success metrics.
3. Escalate decisively when trade-offs are required between speed, quality, and scope.

1. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and impact.
2. Use data to iterate on product performance and drive growth.

1. Travel about 10%-20% of the time to places including but not limited to India, Kenya, Myanmar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, and Zambia and to any other Sun King markets.

You Might Be A Strong Candidate If You Have/Are:

• 7+ years of experience in product management working on complex workflows.
• Product management experience in Android applications.
• Good background in workflow systems, automation, or operations-heavy products.
• High level of detail orientation, ability to identify process gaps.
• Ability to perform basic data analysis with SQL.
• Passionate about software quality, DevOps, documentation, and programming.
• Experience in directly mentoring product management teams.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
