Position Summary

The Community Engagement Specialist is a results-driven, recruitment professional responsible for expanding Girl Scout membership through strategic recruitment, community partnerships, and volunteer recruitment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, meeting new people, building long-term relationships, utilizing proven sales strategies and achieving measurable goals. Success is defined by recruiting new girls and volunteers, developing sustainable community partnerships, and growing membership within assigned geographic territories.

The ideal candidate has experience in recruiting, sales, admissions, fundraising, or community outreach with measurable performance goals.

What Success Looks Like

Successful Community Engagement Specialists consistently:

• Meet or exceed monthly and annual recruitment goals for girl and adult membership.
• Develop a strong pipeline of prospective families, volunteers, schools, and community partners.
• Conduct daily outreach through phone calls, emails, networking, and in-person visits.
• Build lasting partnerships that generate recurring membership opportunities.
• Utilize Council support to plan and execute engaging recruitment events that convert prospects into registered members.
• Analyze recruitment data to identify growth opportunities and improve results.
• Represent Girl Scouts professionally throughout the community.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure exceptional member experience.

Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Sales

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual membership recruitment goals.
• Recruit new girls, volunteers, and troops within assigned communities.
• Prospect daily through cold calls, warm leads, networking, referrals, and community engagement.
• Develop and maintain a robust recruitment pipeline using Salesforce and other CRM tools.
• Follow up consistently with prospective families and volunteers to increase conversion rates.
• Track recruitment metrics and adjust strategies to maximize results.

Business Development

• Establish partnerships with schools, PTAs, childcare centers, faith-based organizations, community centers, libraries, businesses, and civic organizations.
• Secure opportunities for recruitment presentations, information sessions, and community events.
• Identify new markets and underserved communities for membership growth.
• Build long-term relationships that generate sustainable recruitment opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

• Two or more years of experience in:
  • Recruiting
  • Admissions
  • Membership Development
  • Sales 
  • Community Relations with measurable performance goals
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales or recruitment targets.
• Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Comfortable making cold calls and initiating conversations with new contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Public speaking and presentation experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily local travel.
