Job Description PURPOSE AND SCOPE: It is the responsibility of the CC Trainers to provide the learningactivities and support that will lead to the achievement of thecourse objectives and contribute to the educational environment ofthe department, college, and the community. The Trainer member'srole encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation and,when not instructing, may include taking part in other relatedfunctions, such as curriculum development, development and growthof the department, professional development, and institutionalservice. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop and teachcourses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates studentlearning for employees of client companies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Teaches resulting in two or more of the following programs:Mechanical - or Electrical- or Fluid Power (Hydraulics andPneumatics) programs using related materials to support trainingobjectives, such as electrical testing and maintenance, electricaltrouble shooting and Programmable Logic Controllers Works with Instructional Designer to develop client specializedMechanical - or Electrical- or Fluid Power (Hydraulics andPneumatics) courses to meet individual Corporate College clientneeds Delivers training curriculum programs for external clients Reviews, evaluates, and revises program curricula and practicesto assure compliance with professional standards, state-mandatedguidelines, and requirements of business, industry, and highereducation. Maintains current knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical orFluid Power standards Develops and uses a syllabus for each course or laboratorywithin college and departmental guidelines When not instructing, position may be responsible forcurriculum development, development of the department, professionaldevelopment, and institutional service as determined by departmentleadership. Serves as Mechanical, Electrical or Fluid Powerconsultant to sales team. May serve on grant committees, and workswith college leadership on projects Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Mastery of course content Ability to work with Corporate College staff and clientpersonnel to meet varying training schedules and coursefeedback Must have excellent interpersonal, communication andorganizational skills Ability to communicate, understand and meet needs ofclients Must demonstrate instructional skills Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends Microsoft Office software PHYSICAL ABILITIES: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work. WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS: Regularly drive to offsite, client locations as assigned withintraining contract and directed by executive director The work is performed in a climate controlled officeenvironment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. Travel to theLSC locations and to external client meeting locations will berequired. Hours will vary depending on class time. Instructors arerequired to meet with classes at all scheduled times REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or higher and at least 3 years of verified,paid work experience in industry as an electrical/electronics,and/or mechanical maintenance, and/or fluid systems specialist Work experience and significant hands-on experience in one ormore of the following areas: Mechanical systems (e.g., manufacturing, assembly,maintenance) Industrial electrical/electronic systems (e.g., automation,programmable logic controllers, motor controls) Technical math Blueprint and/or schematic reading Precision measurement Occupational and equipment safety Valid Texas Driver’s License PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree or higher in a related field Experience in adapting training techniques to students of bothtechnical and nontechnical backgrounds Bilingual (English/Spanish) Veteran Salary Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
