Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Lead

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Position Status: Hourly

General Purpose of the Job:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all outbound and inbound material movement within the facility. This role ensures shipments are completed accurately and on time, materials are received and distributed efficiently, and communication across departments is clear and consistent. The Lead supports daily operations while working hands-on with the team, including forklift operations.

ESSENSIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shipments with shipping clerks to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Arrange and schedule pickup requests between facilities with internal truck drivers
• Ensure all shipments are processed and fully shipped in the system by the end of each day
• Operate a forklift as needed to support loading, staging, and material movement
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with Customer Service Representatives (CSR) regarding shipment status and issues
• Ensure all shipments are completed and shipped according to promised ship dates
• Assist in resolving shipping delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues

Receiving Responsibilities

• Maintain strong communication with the Receiving Clerk to ensure smooth daily operations
• Ensure all incoming packages and materials are received in the system by the end of each day
• Assist with unloading trucks using a forklift as needed
• Communicate effectively with purchasing and other departments regarding incoming materials and issues
• Respond promptly to all emails related to receiving discrepancies or concerns
• Ensure all internal packages are delivered to the correct departments in a timely manner
• Help identify and resolve receiving errors such as shortages, damages, or misrouted items

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior leadership or coordination experience preferred
• Forklift experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
• Familiarity with ERP systems for shipping and receiving transactions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Bilingual English / Spanish preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Forklift certification preferred but not required.
