Electrical Estimator

Electrical EstimatorR.D. Graham is seeking an Electrical Estimator, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role analyzes drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, and time requirements, helping ensure projects are bid competitively and profitably.PTO, Holidays, 401(k) matching, Medical/Dental/Vision, Basic and Group Life, Hospital Confinement, etc.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed cost estimatesPerform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.)Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotesPrepare and submit complete bid packages within deadlinesIdentify risks, opportunities, and value engineering optionsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teamsMaintain accurate cost databases and historical recordsAttend pre-bid meetings and site visits as neededAssist with project handoff to operations after awardQualifications5+ years of experience in electrical estimatingKnowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specificationsStrong mathematical and analytical skillsProficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and Microsoft ExcelExcellent communication and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsElectrical field experience (electrician, foreman, or similar)Experience with design-build projectsFamiliarity with NEC (National Electrical Code)Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)Key CompetenciesAttention to detailTime management and ability to meet deadlinesProblem-solving and critical thinkingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWork EnvironmentOffice-based with occasional site visitsMay require extended hours during bid periodsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periodsOccasional travel to job sitesFor over 30 years, R.D.
