Assistant Director of Human Resources

We’re looking for an experienced HR leader to serve as a strategic partner to our Director of Human Resources and help support the continued growth of a fast-moving, multi-state organization. This role is designed for someone who thrives in operational HR leadership, enjoys building structure and supporting leaders, and is looking for a long-term opportunity with future executive growth potential. About the Opportunity The Assistant Director of Human Resources will support day-to-day HR operations across our multifamily and senior living portfolio while helping drive consistency, compliance, employee relations, leadership support, and process improvement initiatives company-wide. This is not a recruiting-heavy or payroll-focused role. Instead, we are seeking a well-rounded HR professional who can operate both strategically and operationally while helping strengthen the infrastructure, culture, and leadership support systems of a growing organization. You’ll work closely with operational leaders across multiple business lines and serve as a trusted resource for managers, employees, and executive leadership. What You’ll Own Partner closely with the Director of Human Resources to support company-wide HR operations and strategic initiatives Provide guidance to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and HR best practices Support investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion Help drive HR process improvements, standardization, and operational consistency across communities and departments Assist with policy development, handbook updates, and HR compliance initiatives Support leadership coaching and manager development efforts across the organization Participate in organizational development and employee engagement initiatives Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR regulations Assist in building scalable HR infrastructure to support continued company growth Serve as a collaborative business partner to operational leadership teams What Success Looks Like Managers and employees view HR as a trusted and solutions-oriented partner Employee relations matters are handled proactively, professionally, and consistently HR processes become more streamlined, organized, and scalable Operational leaders receive strong support and coaching across multiple business lines Policies and compliance practices remain consistent across the organization The HR function continues to evolve alongside company growth Who This Role Is For HR professionals with 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience Candidates with strong employee relations and HR operations experience Professionals who have supported multi-site or multi-state organizations Individuals from senior living, healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, construction, manufacturing, or similarly operational industries HR leaders who are highly organized, emotionally intelligent, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution Candidates who are comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and shifting priorities Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred PHR or SHRM certification is a plus What Sets You Apart You bring a calm, solutions-oriented approach to complex situations You are highly professional, approachable, and trusted by leadership teams You operate with discretion and strong judgment You enjoy building structure and improving processesYou're proactive, resourceful, and capable of working independently You’re looking for long-term growth and leadership opportunity within an organization Why This Role This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible HR leadership role within a growing organization and work directly alongside senior leadership to help shape the future of HR operations at IREG.
