ANNOUNCEMENT OF COACHING VACANCY

Soccer - Girls Varsity Head Coach 2026-2027 School Year Qualifications Previous soccer coaching experience is desirable. Previous experience in high school, college, or both is desirable. Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport. Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred. Duties Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport. Maintain accurate records of squad lists, injury reports, game scores, incident reports, physical examinations. Be available during the entire school year to lend assistance in guidance and counseling to squad members (scholastic achievement, college entrance, citizenship). Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate. Determine athlete’s academic eligibility. Oversee safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is played at all times that students are present. Make regular checks of the safety of all equipment. Enforce discipline and encourage sportsmanship‑like behavior at all times, following standards set by the headmaster and head coach. Enforce the rules set forth by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. Assist in the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment; coaches are responsible for equipment not returned by their team members at the designated time. Organize and post a daily schedule for the team and assistant coaches. Perform any other duties deemed in the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school by the principal. Stipend: $5,348 (Position is contingent on number of students playing) Stipend amount reflects the contractual rate from the 2022-2025 agreement with the Malden Education Association (MEA). May increase pending MEA ratification and Malden School Committee approval.
