Location: Alpena

Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Weekend Rotation: 1 Weekend Per Month

Position Overview

A leading Michigan healthcare system is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join its Rehabilitation Services team. This position is primarily outpatient with occasional acute care coverage and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based rehabilitation services to help patients improve mobility, function, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient functional status and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide therapy interventions based on physician orders and patient goals
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and home exercise programs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, and students as appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in program development and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required
• Active Michigan Physical Therapist License required
• BLS Certification preferred within 1 month of hire
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills required

Preferred:

• Experience in outpatient rehabilitation
• Manual therapy experience
• Vestibular rehabilitation experience
• Acute care exposure
