Shop Welder/Frabricator

Welder Position

This position is responsible for performing basic to comprehensive welding repairs and new fabrications while learning and developing technical skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing basic and comprehensive repair welds on equipment and components
• Performing basic and comprehensive arc welding, air arc, gas welding, and cutting
• Fabricating new components from shop drawings and/or blueprints
• Working as a member of a team to provide basic technical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals
• Working overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
• Preparing service reports and any other necessary paperwork
• Examining workpieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
• Maintaining all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order
• Performing tasks under minimal supervision
• Providing assistance to other welders
• Adhering to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
• Working safely at all times and adhering to all applicable safety policies; complying with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Requiring regular and punctual employee attendance
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements include:

• Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
• Excellent work habits, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work
• Auger and fabrication repair experience a plus
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing and welding test
• Travel might be required
