Maintenance Specialist/Maintenance Trainee - Weekend Crew - Parks

This is a temporary part‑time position – 1500 hours, PERS eligible. Key Responsibilities Posting park reservations at various locations throughout the City of Escondido. Litter abatement; emptying trash cans and replacing trash liners. Delivering and restocking supplies from the warehouse. Reporting and repairing minor defects in the parks. Cleaning, stocking and ensuring restroom quality. Minor landscaping, weed abatement and debris removal. Ideal Candidate Able to start work at 3 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Work cooperatively with others and contribute to a successful team effort. Operate tools designed for week and litter abatement, don personal protective equipment in a manner consistent with safety procedures. Deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude. Read, write, and understand English to follow safety precautions and procedures. Minimum Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Experience performing routine construction, landscaping and/or maintenance work, including manual labor involving hand tools and portable power tools. Valid Class "C" California driver’s license at the time of application. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime when required. Salary: $19.70 – $26.41 per hour.
