American Girl Retail Asset Protection Associate (Seasonal/Temporary) Location: Chicago, Illinois – 835 N Michigan Ave, 60611. Pay Range: USD $18.00 to $21.15 hourly. Base pay is determined based on location, skills, and experience. This seasonal or temporary position reports directly to the Retail Asset Protection Manager at the American Girl Retail Flagship Chicago location. The Associate maintains a safe environment for customers and employees, safeguards company assets, and performs loss‑prevention duties. Responsibilities Maintain a safe environment for customers and employees by monitoring and correcting safety concerns and controlling or guiding customer traffic as needed. Provide external and internal customer service in a positive, friendly, and professional manner and diffuse escalated situations. Prevent loss of company assets through surveillance, conduct employee package checks and trash checks, and apply knowledge of civil and criminal laws related to retail security. Serve as a safety mentor for store employees and lead by example. Qualifications Must be available to work evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts. One to two years of loss prevention, law enforcement, criminal justice, military, or security experience preferred. State‑specific license, if applicable. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with a broad and diverse workforce and customer base, including work with children, preferred.
