Passionately in pursuit of the perfect beer… and never satisfied.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Ensure that all food and products are prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and presentation standardsEnforce company and department policies, including safe operation of kitchen equipment and sanitation proceduresTrain and onboard of new kitchen staff in product knowledge, standardized recipes, preparation techniques, plating standards and food safetyConduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is clean and maintained in working condition according to the preventative maintenance programsFollow proper product requisition, storage procedures, and waste control practicesAssist in scheduling labor based on anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are metSupport Taproom Chef with administration of prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and proceduresMaintain appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, equipment, and food storageCheck and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points at all times utilizing line check protocolsFill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operationsOther duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities:Assist in supervising and directing kitchen staffProvide continuous coaching, training, and performance feedbackEnsure required certifications are maintained (RBS, FHC)Document and communicate employee performance issues or status changes as required.Ensure that kitchen staff hours are entered into the timekeeping system and approved by deadlines.Required Qualifications:High Diploma or equivalent3 years of experience in various kitchen positions (food prep, line cook, fry cook, pizza station) preferred6 months of similar experience to a Sous ChefManager Food Handler’s and RBS Certification RequiredMust be at least 21 years of age to handle alcoholic beverages (beer) used in food preparationOther Skills and Abilities:Basic mathematical skillsAbility to utilize kitchen equipment such as digital toolsAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsStrong leadership skills and professionalismBilingual English/Spanish preferredWhat Firestone Walker Offers:Health Insurance 100% employer paid premiums for employee medical, dental, vision, & life insuranceFlexible Savings Account (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Company sponsored paid parental leavePaid Sick Leave401(k) retirement plan including company paid profit sharing & 4% safe-harbor matchingAccrued PTO (rate of 13 days per year)10 paid holidays per yearEmployee discount of 50% off food, beer, and merchandisePeriodic beer giveaways for employees 21+The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
