Title: Accountant I Company: Non Profit Industry Compensation: $28-32/hr (DOE) Position Overview The Accountant I supports daily accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, reporting, and audit support. This role works closely with internal teams to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with GAAP. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances. Support monthly and year-end close activities. Maintain subledgers and supporting documentation. Review financial transactions, invoices, contracts, and bank statements for accuracy. Ensure data integrity across accounting systems. Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting issues. Follow internal controls and accounting policies. Assist with audits and financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles. Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
