AP Specialist

AP Specialist (Contract)

Addison Group's client is searching for an AP Specialist on a contract basis. This role is on-site in Upper Marlboro, MD and pays $27-28/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Review and verify invoice approvals and coding for payments.
• Manage the AP aging report and ensure timely payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process electronic payments, checks, and wire transfers.
• Maintain accurate records of AP transactions and documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment issues.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary AP documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software - Unanet required
