Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Alabama (AL SPED Cert required)
- Experience or passion for working in self-contained classroom settings
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom aides and support staff
- Strong communication and adaptability skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Willingness to complete Alabama reciprocity process promptly (approx. 6 weeks)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with diverse needs in grades 3-6
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to cater to learning abilities and IEP requirements
- Manage a caseload of 5-6 students, potentially growing to 8 during the school year
- Collaborate closely with 1-2 aides to maximize support and engagement in the classroom
- Maintain all necessary documentation, including IEPs and progress reports
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
