Patch Weld Associate

The Patch Weld Associate position is responsible for fitting and welding of steel parts using a MIG welding. The position communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment. Essential functions include reading job specifications such as blueprints, determining the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements, setting up, adjusting and operating equipment to fabricate parts to specifications, maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety, ensuring work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards, monitoring work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion, operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal positions to weld structural metal to specifications, inspecting weld surfaces and structure to ensure accuracy and discover flaws, tacks assemblies together, repairing improperly welded pieces and fill holes, identifying, tagging and removing non-conforming materials, accurately completing all required paperwork in a timely manner, communicating with other departments as necessary, keeping work areas clean and organized, adhering to all company rules and policies, and performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
