Postdoctoral Scholar Position 2026-2027

Position Overview Salary range: $69,073-82,836. The salary range for this position is determined by the UC salary scales based on rank and step at appointment. [See Table]. Position Description The UCI Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering is anticipating openings of postdoctoral scholar positions (Levels 0–IV). These positions require a Ph.D. in Materials Science or a closely related field and subject‑matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: Advanced and Additive Manufacturing Advanced Materials Characterization Biomaterials, Bioinspired and Self‑Assembled Materials Energy Materials and Sustainability Materials for Structural Applications and Extreme Environments Modeling, Theory and Computational Approaches to Materials Science and Engineering Nanoscale and Functional Materials Initial appointments are for two years and renewals are based on performance and funding availability. The total duration of postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including service at other institutions. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
